3D Viewer Beta
Watch CS2 Dust II replays inside a full three-dimensional tactical map. Orbit the camera, zoom into a site, or lock onto a player — all in real time from the same replay data that powers the 2D viewer.
What's Available Now
The 3D beta is live inside the main replay viewer for Dust II replays. When you open a Dust II demo, a 3D Beta button appears in the viewer toolbar. Click it to switch the replay surface into 3D mode — the same scrubber, round selector, and controls stay in place.
Supported map: Dust II only. Other maps remain in 2D radar view.
Status: Beta — expect occasional rendering differences from the 2D radar and limited mobile support.
WebGL required: Desktop Chrome or Firefox recommended. Mobile may work but is not optimised.
Features
Why Only Dust II?
Each 3D tactical map is built by hand in Blender: geometry is sourced from the CS2 map files, filtered down to tactically meaningful meshes, classified into floors/walls/roofs/props, and exported as a GLB asset. The Dust II asset alone took significant iteration to get right.
Adding more maps means repeating that process for each one — and each new Valve update can require re-export. The beta starts with Dust II because it's the most replayed map and the one we can maintain reliably. More maps will follow as capacity allows, but multi-map 3D support is not promised on any timeline.
Known Limitations
- Mobile performance is not optimised — the 88 MB GLB and WebGL overhead can cause slowdowns on phones.
- The tactical shell is a simplified export — some small props or environmental details may be absent.
- Player Z-positions are tracked from demo data; vertical positioning is accurate but may not perfectly match every surface.
- No support yet for 3D share links — shared replays always open in 2D.
